Lesson #1 - Excess Baggage!

Hi Friends..

So it's been an eventful night! For those of who were at our Commissioning Service yesterday, you may recall me utter the words '"...We're trying to live simpler and let go of our stuff..."

Well, this could not be closer to the truth! As Karen and I-  the ever prepared, always planned and outfit for any occassion travellers went to check in our bags, we were greeted with small fortune fee if we wanted to take all our things?

Dilemma: is it worth it? Should we pay? Would it be worth paying almost a year's wages for the average Indian worker so that we can take some extras books and shoes?

It's interesting how far we're willing to go, pay and sacrifice just to have our 'stuff' around us....

_

Post Script:

So after a 3 check in attempts, some emergency calico bags from the duty free shop, our parents returning home with 2 small suitcases full of stuff and us travelling 15kg's lighter - we made it onto our flight!

We're in Malaysia, awaiting a flight to Delhi - we will stay here for a night and then off to Nagpur!
...wow - this is really happening!

Hey Tash..

Yer, watched 5 Yr Engagement and then fell asleep after about 15 mins.. then slept most of the flight... then woke up dribbling all over myself.. so embarrassing!

Food crappy..

Hotel is beautiful. I think it was so cheap though because the construction's not finished. We're on floor 8, and 9 & 10 are just concrete.. oops!.. This Is India!
